Episode 49: Toxicity in You: Part 2

CW: Cannibalism, Death, Bullying, Various Health Conditions
Listener Billy hit us with an excellent question: would redheads bright coloration indicate potentially poisonous meat? We take you on a journey through pigmentation in nature outside of humans, poison, and people-eating to answer this one. In part two, we’re looking at where the redhead genetics came from, how those genes affect the way your body functions, and that will finally lead us to a conversation about cannibals, human meat, and how those genetics might change the taste. Billy, I hope you really like the journey we’ve taken you on!

In this episode, we’re mainly talking about the genetics of people with red hair and how they differ a little from people who don’t have red hair.

This is just a follow-up to the last one. There’s 10 scientific facts in here about the genetics of the redhead and what’s going on with their bodies. It’s really cool stuff.

And now we get to the gruesome part of our question. What do cannibals have to say about human meat? What do we look and taste like?

And a second entry where noted cannibals weigh in on the taste of human meat where we can get a handle on what the standard is before we address what unusual / poisoned human meat would be like.
