All three of us love weirdness in its various forms, and we’ve been exploring it separately for a while now. The three of us have been friends for years, which is really just to say we’ve been feeding into each other’s interests and encouraging the pursuit of all things strange.

For Karen and M, this isn’t their first podcast. Before WWYAT they talked about all things spooky on their own show A Bad Neighborhood. They covered crime, the supernatural, weird history, and lots more, and Remy was a guest doing research on a variety of topics.

M is a writer who focuses both on fiction and non. They have seen a ghost, several ghosts, and now those ghosts haunt other people. They (the creature, not the ghosts) are fascinated by the spooky, the strange, and the stupid and this fascination has led them to needing to tell everyone about it. They’ve written LGBTQIA+ history, autobio comics, historical romance, ghost stories, horror stories, murder stories, and then one story about a pickle with an attitude, which they regret.

Remy has been a researcher in the academic sphere for a decade largely writing about the intricacies of being LGBTQIA+ between the Early Modern period and the 19th century, and in the process, he’s learned a lot about a lot of topics. Outside of this, he’s also worked in a variety of fields such as publishing, medicine, childcare, the food industry, and as a small business owner, and this has contributed to the facts he has stored in his brain. Before WWYAT, Remy was running a a TikTok dedicated to answering followers weird questions.

Now Remy’s research background and weird questions and Karen and M’s spooky topics are combined into something better than both things separate in Why Would You Ask That!

Our Team

M

they/them

M is a creature that collects things. Moss and rocks and stamps and stories. They hang out in Arkansas and haunt the eaves with their three cats.

Karen

she/her

Karen, aka “Karebear” is a lover of all things soft, pastel, and/or chocolate. You can usually find her working, writing, or playing (and sometimes writing) Dungeons & Dragons.

Remy

he/him

Remy is a collector of facts whose brain never lets them go again. When not hoarding information like some sort of word dragon, he writes, plays D&D, plays with his children, or watches horror movies at midnight.
