This week we talked about cryptids that are lesser known (at least here in the US). First up, we learned about the Dobhar Chu, Ireland’s ‘hound of the deep’ if you’re taking the translation of the name close to literal. Some consider it Ireland’s Lock Ness Monster. Karen tells us all about it, but if you want more, here’s a great read from Irish Central.
And here’s a little read about the ancient giant otter and whether or not it could explain the mythology of the Dobhar Chu.
Next up, we’ve got a little old lady who can run laps around anyone. She’s not really obscure in her own part of the world, but over here in the US, she’s a lot less well known. That’s right, it’s Turbo Granny. This is a video explaining the urban legend.
What I talked about first was the Mongolian Death Worm. This worm was first described by a paleontologist 100 years ago and we haven’t really been able to prove or disprove its existence since.
Mantis Man is a cryptid that exists in Hackettstown, New Jersey, supposedly, and I know this one is the one I like the least. I absolutely do not want to come in contact with a 7 foot tall mantis.
And for my last one, I talked about the Loveland Frogman.

I have to share with you this amazing picture of the Frogman running for his poor life. This picture was drawn by artist Zach Taylor. Click on that picture to look at more of Zach’s amazing art. Maybe buy something!
