CW: Death, Disease, Dead Bodies, Decomposition
This week we rush back across the pond to look at how the United States took the vampire menace. The answer? Well… not great. Vampires menaced New England in particular, causing disease and death wherever they were found.

First off, let’s start with a book that’s considered a big deal in this field. It’s by Michael Bell, the folklorist who I quoted a lot and talked about a lot. This is Food for the Dead.
This link talks about tuberculosis deaths in New England and how people related those to vampires. This also talks about the connection to Bram Stoker.
