Here is a headline image from a 1915 addition of the London, England newspaper The Daily Mirror. You can see the photograph of the mix of German and English troops above. This image is from the Library of Congress and attached to the story of the 1914 Christmas Truce, and this article includes more images and articles.

This is an extract from a report contained in a war diary from 15 Infantry Brigade to Divisional Headquarters confirming events of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1914. It’s got the scanned images of the diary and the typed out transcript.

This is a little article from the Imperial War Museums in the UK. It tells the story, but more importantly, it contains a lot of videos for you to watch if you want to hear from people who have more expertise than I do and who have lots of pictures!

And finally, here’s that interview I mentioned in the mini. Alfred Anderson was the last survivor from that night. He was just 18 at the time and lived to be 109.

Use this first button to learn what he had to tell us about his experience that night, and use the second button to learn about Alfred himself.
